I've been wanting a surface grinder for a while now and was wondering what people thought about the 6x12 grinders? The Boyar Schultz 6-12 is a manual grinder, isn't necessarily a bad thing I don't think.

I want to make precision tools with it. Such as my own large setup blocks. Or take my crusty old beat up 6" vice and true it up again.

I'd like to be able to put my Bridgeport saddle on this thing, but I think realistically that isn't a good idea. I think you could probably do it in parts, but that might not be a good idea.

Depending on your needs and available floor space a 6 X 18 is more versatile.
Boyar Shultz is a so-so grinder but very precise work can be accomplished in the hands of a skilled operator.
