Kool Mist for circle grinding carbide

Most certainly, if you keep the depth per pass light. ( a couple of thou. )
Just don't try taking .100 in one pass.
If the part does not get hot to the touch you are fine.
Many do it dry, sticking the wheel to keep it clean and sharp helps a lot.
An old 409 or windex spray bottle filled with coolant works well also.

Perhaps someone else will chime in. I'm not sure if you mean to use Kool-Mist coolant in a misting system (i.e. such as the Kool-Mist ones) or in a flood system... I have next to no experience with grinders, but in milling applications, at least, misting systems love to shatter carbide tooling. Too much thermal shock. The Kool-Mist coolant, though, should work fine with carbide when used in a flood coolant system.

I just wanted to point out a possible ambiguity in the thread to help provide a more accurate answer to your question. I hope someone else will chime in and clarify since I am inexperienced in this particular grinding use.

I use a Kool Mist mister with carbide and hss on my mill all the time. The big thing is to keep it always turned on....not suddenly turn it on when you discover things are running hot. I also use it on my surface grinder....like has already been mentioned it works file for lighter grinding cuts.
