what is the best way too keep a new surface grinder lasting ?(80 by 40 inch table) squeegee the table/ wipe dry /
WD-40 table/ park the wheel in centre of table and high up/ok to clean off coolant with air line?
thanks

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I've been at shops that run equipment from the 90's that look great because they wipe down the machines after every shift. Depending on the parts you're grinding make sure to use a coolant that will produce an acceptable part and NOT eat away the paint / exposed metal. Also make sure to use the correct ratio! Congrats on the new grinder, what did you end up getting?

Dump the airhose idea! Blowing crap into places that its not welcome has ruined more machines than I care to think about.

Also buy you a rubber squeegee for the chuck, then wipe down with shop rags. Our shop SOP means you have to open up the stone guard and clean inside there too.

Clean coolant, wipe down daily with shop rag.

Keep your machine clean/oiled and it will keep you busy!

Good surface grinders are hard to find!
