Practical machinist clone ??

That is interesting...will investigate with legal. Apparently their fantasy is some ad revenue from Google ads. But as long as Google doesn't recognize it in any searches it will never go anywhere. But then that begs the question, Peter, how did you run across the site ?

Seems like any hacker/crook types would rather copy a site that actually makes decent money...like one of the multitude of auto or truck forums....but then hacker/crook types aren't exactly known for their intelligence.

I found some of my posts from PM and there are links to my webspace. I'll have to change the links on this asshat.

Can anyone of you computer heads determine where it originates?

I found it googling for Schaublin

I checked my name "Patrick "in that post from AI hembrug ergonomic
It says to have 18 posts but only the one from the Ergonomic is mine
So random names to random posts

BTW I thought you were making decent money with this site by now:D:cheers:

'Course us chatting about it now only helps the crook in that regard, but I will delete this thread after we chat a bit more.

Perhaps a disgruntled ex-PM member? In their 'about' page they make it clear that they're trying to apeal to noobs, regardless of where their machine was made. Seems like we get a couple of people fired up on here about that.:skep:

This kinda reminds me of MacDonalds from the movie Coming to America.:rolleyes5:

Has a bit of "Nelson" ring to it... some of you know who I'm talking about. Has to be someone obscessed with this site as there would sure be better sites to clone if you wanted to make actual income from the situation.

Interesting. I had this forum pop up on my Tapatalk app for my phone a week or so ago. Didn't think much about it but I see other post copies from PM. I could see the off chance that someone was a member at both and wanted to share information on more than one forum but this is a blatant ripoff and has to be illegal. They are copying the entire threads with responses and all. Someone sure seems to have a lot of time on their hands to go through all that trouble. Wonder if they are also starting their own threads and making conversation with themselves to look like more traffic. That would be comical. Good news for us is we don't have to worry about following another forum...click, click...deleted:)

Cheeky with it, look at this line taken from oldbikerdude 37's post

''admins'' looks very liike ''admin5'' at first glance.

I've found my old posts all over the shop fora and blogs. I think I counted one of my posts on air compressors posting unattributed in 21 different and apparantly unrelated sites. Some of that goes with the Wild West ambience of the web. Shouldn't be but until law and order arrives we'll have to live with the croks, cons, and bums.

The theft of PM's format and many topic posts is clear .Plagerism is flattering maybe but certainly illegal and unethical.

I haven't seen my stuff on the topic site but I didn' look that far. There is no doubt in my mind that the site holder is stealing formast and content from other sites mostly this one. Go tear 'em up Milacron. It's time for Vinnie the Knee Breaker.

I noticed at the bottom it showed the members viewing at this time.

Jon Banquer's name was there.:skep::toetap:

PS Click on their "About us" tab at the top of the page.

It must be someone that was blocked here for talking about hobby machines or something.
