1890's Brown & Sharpe lathe headstock - free to a good home

Or to a bad home for that matter. I got it as part of a lot, it was set up for vertical use milling wood.

You can have it for the cost of shipping from Boston, or you can come and pick it up.

I've never seen one of the lathes. They were only listed in the catalog for a very short time in the 1890s. I forget the year span (and don't have all the catalogs) but they were certainly gone before WWI
 
This arrived today in one of the toughest boxes I've had to open. Heavy yet arrived undamaged via UPS.

The distance from centerline to the base is about 6 1/2" so a bit larger swing than the lathe from 1902. Need to find
a "Tools" catalog from B&S from prior to 1900. Missing cover behind the "headstock" and the bottom is planed flat.
