Hi,
I thought I would join the forum as I am sort of new to lathe operation, besides what I learned in high school shop class. But I have been after one for a while since it has many uses for the type of hobbies I have. I picked up this machine over the weekend. Needs some TLC but makes chips. I plan on fixing it up this summer and getting everything operational. I will probably be seeking some advice from those of you out there with experience.
Its a 1904-1907 Leblond with a 16 inch swing and 96 inches between centers. It came with a single phase motor linked to a 3 speed transmission from and older tractor ( i think based off of markings on the case). It also came with a steady rest 2, 3 jaw chucks and a 4 jaw independent. I plan to re-engineer the drive some and go back to flat belting since it was rigged to use a reversed v belt. Pictures to come as we progress. Enjoy!
