I recently procured this compound and as near as I can tell it's from a Hardinge/Cataract Pre-1931.
Because I'm uncertain of the exact line it came from here is what I know.
The Tony's Lathe site has an identical model that he claims is Pre-1920. Page Title
The Hardinge emblem on the slide indicate it's pre-1931 because of their move to Elvira NY in 1931.
As You'll see by the photos, it's had a few close encounters with chuck jaws. along with some drilling. The slides do both operate smoothly.
If anyone is in need of this item, please PM me. I am interested in either selling or trading. photos are also available at: Index of /slideweb
