Did you guys see this one on ebay?

50"/136" x 312" Leblond Manual Lathe - eBay (item 200419488342 end time Jul-16-10 12:01:45 PDT)

That is the biggest LeBlond lathe I think I've ever seen. It's a sliding gap bed lathe, 50" swing with the gap closed, 136" swing with the gap open, and max distance between centers (with gap open) of 312". Wow. They don't list the weight....I guess if you have to ask, you can't handle it.

It's in Philadelphia, probably from the shipyards. They say 1975 vintage, right about the end of LeBlond as we know it. I hope it finds a good home. Unfortunately, probably overseas.

Most of the sliding bed Leblond lathes I have seen advertised do not have enough hp for the swing in the "gap" in my opinion. This is an exception.

I know a guy with a fair size Leblond and he strongly dislikes the servo headstock that this one appears to have as well.

I would have to hold out for for one of the real heavies like a Monarch if I was in the market. :cloud9:
