I looked at this South Bend Model 9B long bed (48 inch) lathe last night. It needs a little bit of work to get running but it should clean up nicely. Like the owner, I have too many projects to take this one on. I said I would help him by posting it online.
Details:
Lathe does not come with the bench, four-jaw chuck, or steady rest shown.
What needs to be done (other than the teeth):
The machine currently runs and the lead screw/carriage feeds work. Half-nuts need adjusting.
The owner will not ship it. He does have a tractor to help load the lathe into your vehicle.
Please contact me and I will provide contact information for the owner.
