Hopefully someone out there has something stuffed in a drawer somewhere.
Has anyone seen a Fellows 24in Gear Shaper? Also know as a No.3 with spur guide or a No.35 with helical.
Only one of these I know to exist, as I have never seen or heard and most people have never seen one.
This machine would have started to be built about 1902 up until sometime before 1927.

Very interesting. Last shop I worked for had a gear shop of fellows gear shapers that covered about a half acre or so. Never seen one that early. Thanks for sharing. Nice little planer as well.

Not a problem this one is what is thought to be a prototype built in 1898 and this model machine didn't come out until 1902. Probably the earliest Fellows machine in existence. I'm just hoping someone has some documentation. I have tons of data sheets and manuals for Fellows but nothing on this.
