the Irish Traction Group is a volunteer organization preserving irish rail

so the group acquired a Metropolitan Vickers locomotive built in 1950's
and originally equiped with Crossley ESTVee8 two cycle diesel

this series engine ranks among the great engineering/design disasters
reed valves were used --with 100 percent failure incidence
all Crossleys were replaced with EMD 8-645

so , Irish Traction Group (ITG) obtained the locomotive in video clip in 1992--and actually started the EMD for first time in 2016

and when this engine ran, it was obviously defective

---two vids
insertion and run of faulty EMD after chassis rebuild

Would like to know more about this weird and obviously terribly Crossley two stroke. Must have been so bad nobody even wanted to remember it. Nothing on google, lol.
