Got this some time back .....finaly a moment to catch-up.
I love this little stinker.
doubles as a Outside / inside caliper & as a hight gage.
I noticed while pic-ing it....the same color-change you get with forgewelded blade-edge metal to a softer base-metal...!!! ... ???
Maybe thats the case here ?
