Wondering if anyone here recognizes this metal shaper / planer vise?
Specs:
1) jaws 8" wide, serrated horizontally in great shape
2) 11.5" open travel between jaw faces
3) weight about 100 lbs
4) base 15" x 13"
5) hole spacing in base - 9.5" x 11"
6) 11/16" wide table keys - screwed in?
7) no manufacturer markings that I can see
8) only a light cut across the top of one jaw as seen in picts, no drill marks that I know of

It's just slightly too big for my Smith&Mills 12" metal shaper so thinking about putting it up for sale to fund the purchase of another vise that fits my S&M shaper.

Hoping someone here has one like it?? Thoughts and comments welcome!

I cannot recognize the make, but can make a nice tool when cleaned up. And almost always it is nice to have a big vise rather that one just a little too small...

Yes... I just wish the table on my 12" S&M shaper was a little bigger. At 10" wide x 9.25" (slotted length) deep, there's just not a whole lot of room. I suppose I could d/t the unslotted back surface of the table for a stud so as to allow mounting this beast.

The double clamping bolts on each side are a bit unusual on this vise... A friend pointed me to a different British shaper vise with similar bolt arrangement, so we're wondering if this might be from across the pond?

Thanks again,
Jeff P
