Hoping that the photographer didn't just yell "Freeze!" when exposing the picture.

I guess the fight was going on not far outside the shop doors, perhaps the rifles were there ready if the shop needed to scramble. Probably a number of parallels on all sides of some of the conflicts in the middle east nowadays.
 
Picture was taken at the old Alamo Iron Works foundry site machine shop...

The Alamodome was built in its place, now.

EDIT: Just kidding....

Problem with those hats, and even with a ball cap, is that they bounce chips back down over your safety glasses, not that it bothered the guys in the photo.
 
A little history, the Mexican Revolution was from 1910 to 1920 according to Wikipedia.
Alamo Iron Works did exist back then, the picture was obviously not of AIW. But it wouldn't surprise me one bit that they had a part in supplying stuff to Mexico back then.
