Travelling head shaper for sale

For the image challenged.

Modern machine, home built by a talented craftsman perhaps following a kit or directions.

This one sort of sounds like a lot of machinery seen in Florida. Owner retires to warm & sunny, works a while in his air conditioned shop, then passes on and the family gets to deal with the leftovers.

I spent some time at Port St. Lucie and Homestead, but never made it up to the flea market up in Orlando. I was told by the locals that is where the "deals" are.

Pretty interesting at that. It looks very functional. Macro photographs of the feed mechanism would be appreciated, if someone in PM buys it. I have a Martin models hand operated shaper casting kit to build someday but the feed looks hokey to me. The feed on a Drummond shaper is very interesting from a mechanical standpoint.

As does the feed from a traveling head shaper, the Alexander;

That one uses a very novel method to drive the feed screw, worth studying IMHO.

BTW, Lathes.uk is one my favorite websites, Tony has done a magnificent job compiling such a wealth of information. When I think of the money I've wasted on stupid movies over the years compared to the fun I've had surfing that site I like to chip in a few bucks once in a while, anything at all lets Tony know we appreciate what he has spent so many hours setting up for us.

To me it looks extremely similar to a Boyton & Plummer shaper. Possibly, a few pieces were hand-made, like the crank that has a series of holes, instead of a T-slot. But I suspect that most of the machine is original.
