Hello this my first time on this form. I have old 10" swivel base vise that was given to me many years ago. I have look for a manufacture name but all I could find was some marking shown in the pics. Any help would be kindly appreciated.

Forrest beat me to it. That is a shaper vise.

Here's the deal: lots of guys buy a shaper that doesn't have a vise. Then they go begging for one and find they are scarcer than hen's teeth. If I were you I'd clean that up (don't go hog wild, I'm just talking about a rag and maybe some Hoppe's no. 9) take measurements and sell that thing for market rate. With the money you can buy a real nice bench vise. Or two.

Any Other Casting Numbers?

If the casting numbers can be positively identified, perhaps the forum can make an exact match.

Photo 4: Can anyone make out all the digits? Perhaps the OP can clear off the swarf and get a better reading?

Are there any other casting numbers?

MetalMagpie suggested Hoppe's powder solvent. Hoppes is great stuff in many ways, but it is not cheap.

For the sake of economy, I'd suggest ordinary cheap mineral spirits (paint thinner) as a wipe-down medium for vises. Another inexpensive choice would be kerosene. Neither of these is as good as Hoppes, but they are more economical.
