I picked some stuff up from an auction recently and these came with a lot I won. It may or may not have been with a cylindrical grinder. It is spring loaded but only pivots to the point set by the set screw stop. Any ideas?

looks alot like an Upsetter material stop gauge. swings up out if the wat when ram comes in. probly not that due to lack of a funny looking roller cam.

I'm at a loss too. I do a lot of tool relieving and with the lack of a cam I cant see it being that. It has serious spring pressure also. The amount of motion is really limited also. IDK... Looks like its going to be a glorified paper weight.

I wonder if this is some type of lifter for a production setup. Part is placed on table with a protrusion or shelf hanging over the lug. Clamps pull the spring loaded lug down for machining, then the lug lifts the part to get a strap or something under it when the clamps are released.
