St. Louis to Virginia, need engine hauled or willing to haul something headed west

Got a 2,000 lb engine on a normal size pallet in Festus, MO just south of St. Louis that I need to get to my place near Lexington, VA.

Skidloader with forks on the loading end and forklift to unload on my end.

Several ways this could work
  • Find someone headed east to bring it to me.
  • Find something I can haul west to help with fuel cost and I'll fetch it myself.
  • Haul something part of the way and someone brings the engine part way and we trade.
  • I'll drive part way to meet the engine.

Basically I'm trying to avoid both a 1,400 mile weekend and $400 in fuel. One or the other or part of both would be OK though.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Grigg

Just thought of it,
I have an old benchtop horizontal milling machine I'd trade someone for hauling the engine. Or alternately I'd haul it west and sell it to help cover fuel. If interested I'll dig up some pictures.

Considering making the trip myself, probably one of the next couple weekends.

Anyone need something hauled west or have any ideas?
