It might not be far off the mark to class me as a bit 'OCD' about PM, but .. I had been over 40 years largely away from the cutting tools, so had a massive gap to fill in.

Over one period of several weeks, I set my display to go as far back in time on PM as could be done. Then spent day after day walking forward - just in the many threads as touched my interest. That meant scanning perhaps 20 times as many title and initial posts as I actually dropped into and followed.

One does have to 'mine' selectively, but the accumulation of value is simply astonishing.

That 'recce' became food for better use of the search function. Google ALSO tracks posts here, sometimes better than the PM toolset, other times, not.

PM is well worth at least a periodic side-trip back in time.
