Could you post some dimensions and other information? Possibly a photo?

The model number is probably the 700, the other part makes no particular sense.

If it is a Monkey Wards metal lathe, it should be a Logan, and probably will resemble this

Monkey wards lathes are usualy logans.

The little pull knob on the headstock is a dead give away its not a south bend.

Well, now I've seen pics of the machine including the nameplate, and it is a Logan.

And the model number is exactly as given above.....I guess Monkey Wards added some numbers. The 04TLC part is right on the plate.

The wards lathes were made by Logan. There is a logan lathe group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lathe-list/

Contact Scott at Logan and he will give you information on the lathe and sell you the manual.

It IS a Montgomery Ward lathe. I just bought one with the same model number. It has a 10 inch swing.

Thanks to everyone for the help with this lathe. I found the place that sells all the parts for it. (though NOT cheap)

Again, thank you all for your help.
