    Default Parker spindle

I came across this last week while checking out an old South Bend lathe for sale. The guy was selling off his father-in-law's old machinery.

I am not sure if this can be used by anyone here. It is a Parker spindle for a grinder but it has a motor attached to it.

It comes in an original crate but I do not know the condition of the spindle. It may have never been used, or it was re-serviced and never re-installed, or it is used and it was never sent in for re-servicing.

Any value here or is this so specialized that it is headed for the scrapper?

I am helping the seller dispose of the estate; I am not making any money here. I will be posting about the lathe when the guy sends me pictures.

I believe it is for a Parker Majestic surface grinder.

I sent the seller an email. He will contact you directly. His name is Bill.

Damn, just shows you gotta check every day!

Depending on quill size, I'm interested if SIP bows out. (Assuming excellent bearings. Already got 2 with singing ones)

I can't read the data plate. HP?

I can't make it out myself from the original photo. It looks like 1 hp.
