South Bend 14 inch Lathe on Ebay

Does anyone know what is involved with fixing the adjusting motor on the varible speed pully? It appears the controller was disconnected and the motor is hidden behind the gear box. Seems like a flexible cable and manual crank would be the sensible thing, ANy ideas?

I saw one of those 14's where someone did put a manual crank on it. It was mounted on the front, just to the right of the motor. I didn't look inside to see how they connected it, but it probably was by a flex cable or maybe some universals. If I get back to see it, I'll check it out further.

Took another look at the South Bend 14 with modified speed adjuster. I didn't take the covers off, but it appears they used a shaft with a set of bevel gears to make the 90 degree bend, you can feel the gears when you turn the crank.
