Is it a true taper move (called out as angle of wire) or is it a 4 axis (called out as U and V moves)?

Make the step increments smaller and they will get a smoother surface. When programming 4 axis, I step about .0015 per step on my largest plane (step may be smaller on the other Z plane depending on what you are doing). It makes one heck of a long program, but the surface is perfectly smooth.
