I have used both moly and tungsten wire. They are pricey. What else do you need to know? Usually these wires are made only in small diameters because you need the tensile strength (in wires .002 and under).

Moly cuts very well. Sometimes hard to thread because it kinks easily. I use .004 diameter all the time to cut BE-CU shim and copper. I make no changes to power settings, just perform a test cut to verify part size. I use the moly because of it's strength.

Just curious why additional strength is needed at the same power setting? Do you run higher tension, or is there another reason higher strength is required?

My understanding is Moly is meant for rough cut only on parts that have thin walls or very small features. The additional tensile strength aids in holding tight tolerances with a rough cut only. So yes... you run higher tension...
