My boss is mad that we are not cutting at the speed the salesman said we would be cutting at,
however my boss is EDM inept. Salesman told him the machine will cut 42 square an hour through 2.75in of steel. I laughed. I told him yes it could happen with .013 wire and an E1 setting on a straight line wide open in a controlled enviroment. Any wire Suggestions on wire that will get me to a realistic 20-30 square??

I'm assuming you want to hit these speeds using .010" diameter wire? "Gamma X" wire from Global (you can buy it from Kern EDM) is known to perform especially well in your Charmilles machine. A well maintained 240cc should be able to cut in the low to mid 20s using X wire in that thickness.

Thanks for the tips, I managed to get 32sq with turbo cut zinc coated brass through 2 in material on a straight line using the SWXCC wire table and manually tweaking my parameters they seem to be happy for now at least
