Sodick Hole Popper - any good?

The guy I use for hole popping has one, and likes it a lot. If that is the CNC version, it is ungodly expensive compared to the manual version ($80K new, now I think). If it goes for a low price, it might be a good buy.

Cheers!

I have a Sodick K1C and the main drawback is that the Fluid is expensive! I have used Sodick, Charmilles HD8 and HD20. I would go with the Charmilles HD20 for my choice. I uses DI water from the wire machine. FOr a few holes you can just use tap water if you are in a real hurry but in the long run for a lot of hole it is better to use DI water. Useing the tap water will affect time(it take a bit longer). Stay away from the HD8 if you plan to be doing a lot of holes at one time. The machine cannot keep up and the boards heat up. For production the HD20 is excellent and I have personally done a 0.1 mm hole fairly easy. I have never used a HD30 but that may be a good choice too...
