Hello Everyone,

We are in the process of implementing a backup stragety for our EDM machines. Does anyone know a good way of creating readable backups of the program files (mostly RBF, CMD and PNT files) that we can then view/edit on a Windows operating system? We currently have seven EDM machines and we would like to be able to do the following:

1.) Initialize the floppy drive (DD0)
2.) Copy Files to DD0 (floppy drive) from memory.
3.) Transfer files from Floppy to a PC with the Windows XP operating system.
4.) Transfer files from hard disk to a USB Flash Drive (secondary backup media for the floppies).
5.) Then be able to transfer the files back to a floppy and then upload them to the appropriate EDM machine.

We do know there was a software program at one time that allowed the Tech to create a program on the pc and then upload it to a particular EDM machine via floppy disk (DD0). That Tech is no longer with our company. Does anyone know what program we need in order to successfully create a backup media for our EDM machines. We do know it was an encoder/decoder software program.

Our EDM machines are as follows:
(1) Roboform 20
(2) Roboform 20A
(2) Roboform 22
(2) Roboform 55

Thanks for all of your help.

Its been a while, but I used to program with notepad or word and rename the file .cmd or .iso and transfer using a floppy.
