Agree with Jack, get the EDM Handbook by Bud Guitrau, who is also a contributor here. You can find it cheaper than EDM Today's site tho with a little searching. EDM Today's site DOES give you a good idea of what books are available.
Also, check with Agie/Elox and get the manuals for the machine. and DEFINATELY subscribe to EDM Today. It's a great magazine!!!
