Anyone out there using one of these SouthWestern Industries machines?
Does anyone have and words on these machines?

I can only speak from a UK point of view. The control system seems to be good. The chassis they use over here are somewhat suspect in their build quality Spanish/Chinese etc.
It may be of interest that they use a lot of these machines/controls in the F1 builders shops here in the UK. The UK agent/distributor has been extremely successful........a millionaire I would think by now

The earlier models were built very light, you had to take lots of light cuts for roughing. The saleaman told me the 1540v is heavier, but I haven't seen one. The control is popular in job shops and is easy to use. The fellows who have them have very good things to say about Southwestern Industries and their service and support. I almost bought a Trak lathe, but went with a 20" Milltronics instead and I'm glad I did. I'd hate to run parts on one of those machines without an automatic turret.
