Hello,
I am a new machinist, interested in taking the jump to CNC. I don't know much about cnc, however I am a "quick learner".
The Bridgeport 16x40 EZ Path lathe has sparked my interest, being that it is a "teach lathe" . I am looking to make small production runs ( 50 - 100) of relative small parts.
The questions are:
Is this a good lathe /program?
Is it easy to learn cnc on it?
And what should one expect to pay for a used 1996 model wth low hours and basic tooling?
Or is there a different machine (smaller) that might suit my needs?
Thanks For your help,
Duke

Duke, we have a 98 EZpath and use it for small batches and one off parts. The on site programing is realatively simple and straight foward and it is not really necessary to know G code programing. The control is "conversational" and you basiclly fill in the blanks. The machine is extremely versatile and accurate and would make any manual lathe seem obsolete once you use it. we use it every day and consider it a great asset to our shop!
