I bought a bridgeport cnc with a boss 9 control. I need to wire it to run on single phase with a rotory converter. Has any one done this and have any insite?

Thanks Bob

I did not have that control, but what I did was to run a seperate 240V line to the control, so that I could keep it "up" all the time as my control did not have a "home" and needed re-zeroed every power up. That way I could shut down the three phase power at night.

Maybe you can take something from this?

Bob, You can run this machine off a rotary phase converter with no problem. But, and this is a important, make sure you use a CNC rated rotary phase converter which holds close regulation on the voltages. Make sure the high or wild leg is put on L3. These were fine machines in their day but getting the electronics repaired today is getting very expensive. For electrical repair parts try EMI at 215-234-1880 or Electrical South. Good luck.
