I am considering the purchase of a CNC/MANUAL turning center. I am a low volume job shop working with steel and aluminum.
The MANUAL/CNC function seems interesting.

ROMI now makes a unit like the ROMI/BRIDGEPORT units and there is the DYNAPATH 14 and 16.
What do you all think of these units?
Any experiences good/bad with them?
What would you recommend?
Any and all input appreciated.
Thanks.

Prototrak is probably the best known of the hybrid lathes. The fellows who run them like them but I've heard that they are built a little too light for production work - at least the older ones. I have a Milltronics ML20 and love it. My only complaint is that the turret is too small - only has 8 stations and can't use them all when I use boring bars because the bars will hit the 10" chuck. The dual handwheels make setup a breeze. We have found so far that we have never used it as a manual machine though...
