I am drilling and counter boring 4 holes in 3/4 in plate. I am drilling a .812 hole with a flat end insert drill, then circle milling with a 2 insert 82deg. countersink. The dia. across the top of the counter sink is 1.580 and it is approx. .550 deep. I am going down .100 and all the way out to the dia. on the first cut then down .110 and on the dia. untill cut 1 and 2 touch. Procede 5 times untill done. It is a pretty good looking hole but takes 8.5 min to drill and countersink all 4 holes. Am I doing this the right way or do I need to change the process to speed it up? I have 180 plates to do.
I am using a mazak vtc200b milling center
