RS232 Baud rate on 640 Fusion?

I've got a Mazak HMC with a 640 Fusion control, and I'm up/downloading programs via RS232. When the Mazak tech set up the machine (purchased new in 2004), he had me set the baud rate at 4800. Since then, I've become increasingly unsatisfied with this transfer speed. I'd think the control is capable of much faster RS232 transfers, but this was the speed recommended by the tech. Hell, I've got a Fanuc 16MA circa 1996 that handles 9600 with no issues.

Is anybody else out there using RS232 on a Fusion 640, and if so, what baud rate are you using?

19200 baud rate but it for Fusion 640 lathe, I think it should work for mill.

I'm using 19200 (On all HMC, VMC, Lathes, Multi-plex) also and have no problems. I've gone faster as well but the key thing will be the length of the cable and quality of the data signal because you'll start dropping codes. 19200 has been pretty good and I've run them fairly long without dropping code. I'm even running 19200 on M+ controls...

19200? Damn! I'm going to change it today. My cable is only about 8 feet. I can't believe I've been at 4800 for over 2 years.
