Haas Indexer Connection

Hey, I'm new here and I've got a few questions about our indexer. We've got an old 5c indexer, and a slightly newer VF-2, and I was wondering if there was a way to connect the indexer up to the serial port on the back of the machine. One of the service guys told us it was possible but now how to do it. Right now we're running some square housings on it, and between sides we have to hit the switch that is tied into the indexer because the indexer is a totally separate unit.

Any suggestions?

go to this link, you can download the indexer manual. if you machine has m functions you can use them with the four pin connector. http://www.haascnc.com/customer_service/manual/rotary/96-0315.pdf

Yeah, we are thinking of going with the m function, is this something we can wire ourselves? And where are the relays located, I found that the machine has the M21-24 open.
