Figure "8" grooving

Have to quote parts with a figure 8 grease groove. Can this configuration be cut with a TL-1 using a floating tool? I don't want to purchase the correct machine to do this for a limited amount of work. Dave.

OD or ID groove?
If ID then what diameter is the hole?
How picky is your customer?
You might be able to cut a plunge in / lift out thread both left and right hand.
The problem you will have is the longer the pitch the worse the tool will drag on the sides of the cut.
We do a lot of oil grooves with a 4 axis mill and a special arm that uses a timing belt to drive the end mill

Live tooling and a ball "burr" [with reduced shank] should doo it fine?
