I didn't check through search on this because of the most annoying slowdown in going from thread to thread this weekend, so here goes. I have heard from a few folks of using a wireless control(like the switches used on autostart controls) to remotely start a rpc and was wondering if anyone has "been there/done that" . If I somewhat centrally locate the rpc range would not need to be more than 50'. This is for a bridge crane I have been working on and finally got all the steel in place last weekend. So now begins the electric part of it, and if this set up exists and works reliably, would make my life a lot easier!

There are several wireless remote transmitter / receiver sets on ebay. I have used some for jobs. They have worked ok. I suppose they would be classed as cheap junk.
On the hoist, you probably want a second way to stop things in emergency so no one gets hurt if the remote doesn't work.
