I am looking at some woodworking equipment right now that has 200v 3 ph motors. (A tablesaw and jointer) I am going to buy or build a RPC, but I am a little wary about running the machines off of 220-240v power. I have had some people on other forums say that they have had no problems running there 200v tools this way, but I want to get as many opinions as possible. Is there any circumstance in woodworking that would make this unsafe? Thanks.

The 200 volt motor - 230 volt supply issue has been discussed here more than once. IIRC, The short answer is while it is not optimal, it will work. The motor will run a bit hotter than normal, that's about it.

Excellent!

That's kinda the word I have been gettiing from everyone I ask. I just wanted confirmation from as many different sources as possible.

As a result, I am now the proud new owner of a Delta 8" jointer and a 3 HP unisaw.......both for a really great price.

Thanks!

Hutch
