Has anyone made/done/thought of/thought of but realized it shouldn't be done...to create the fifth axis using the 4th axis rotary table?

I'm curious about this, I know Haas makes/sells the trunnion table, but in my opinion, the tables on the VMC's are small enough, and the trunnion table takes up the entire bed, and has a set amount of work holding capacity. Has any one, made their own 5th axis attachment to work with the rotary table? Has anyone tried, Does anyone see any problems with one attempting to make one?

Not sure the relivence of using up the entire bed as you would assumably be running the trunnion at this point?

But if you had a bigger 4th and made a swing down table to lay a nother but smaller 4th down on - it would essentially be the same. You would hafta have a 4th that is lay-down freindly. Many are not these days.
