There is a water jacket in the headstock around the spindle cartridge, the coolant goes there before the nozzle and runs out a bit after.

I've found that when the coolant gets low in the tank, it takes longer to shut-off.

I second KNC and OX. Once my tank is approaching 1/2 full (or is it 1/2 empty) it starts to have trouble with it's stream.
It's really great when you fill the machine with chips and so there is a bunch of standing coolant inside the machine then the stream gets slow to turn on

Had that problem and got some LOC-LINE dribblets. there suposed to take the place of the check valve at the pump but they also restrict just enough that it will stop the flow right as the pump shuts off. of course if your using P-COOL then it wont work but standard coolant lines its great.
