Spindle Nose confusion... TL-1

The TL-1 has a spindle nose of "A2-5".

I see references in some literature of "A5".

The Bison SET-TRU back plates come in "A1-5".

I also read that A2 means two bolt hole circles and A1 means one bolt hole circle.

Will a back plate designated as "A1-5" fit on the TL-1??

Thanks for help with the noob questions.

Tough I'm not an authority on this by any means, but here is what I know and think about the compatibility.
The taper is the same on both A1 and A2 spindle noses. The difference is that the A1 nose has 2 sets of boltcircles - inner and outer - to accomodate manual and power chucks.
The A2 nose has only the outer bolthole pattern, which is the typical configuration for power chuck.
This would mean that an A2 chuck would fit on an A1 spindle, BUT an A1 chuck does not fit on an A2 spindle as it has no inner boltholes.

Having said that, both Royal and Bison makes adapter plates so you CAN mount the faceplate or other A1 accessory on the A2 nose.
