'97 VF-1..... This just popped up today. I'm certain the transmission is full of oil.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Step 1: Make sure the pump is moving oil. You will need to pull the head tin and check to see that there is oil moving through the lines. You will need to turn the spindle on then off to get the pump to come on.

Step 2: make sure the pressure switch works. It is right next to the pump.

Step 3: We have found that a small amount of air can accumulate at the switch and cause this alarm. We changed the plumbing to re-orient the switch so that air bubles cannot settle in the end of the switch. We replaced several switches before we figured this out. We currently have our switch with the threaded end pointed up. Since we did this we never get this alarm.(knocking on wood)

This system would be bettter if it detected flow instead of pressure. IIRC the switch is 1-2 PSI. That is a pretty low threshold. There is really not much in the system to cause backpressure.

Goood luck.

ARB, thanks for the quick response. We had basically isolated the problem to a bad pressure switch. After installing a new switch the alarm popped up again.
Hopefully, re-orienting the switch will do the trick.
