I finally did it, I was bringing the z axis down to probe a part and the dadburn jog lock was on, luckily it appears the only damage is a shattered probe tip.

Before I call my HFO monday morning to order another, does anyone have a reccomendation
of a better source to buy these tips?

If I can find them at a reasonable cost it might be a good idea to buy 2 and put 1 on the shelf, a little insurance policy so it never happens again!

I always keep a spare on hand "just in case". I use my probe all the time inside of programs to locate parts and once in a while snap. Damn dislexic fingers. Hasn't happened in a while though, thank God.

I have found them on ebay once in a while for a good price.

I got my replacement from MSC, was an actual renishaw tip.

Just remember to re-calibrate the probe after replacing the tip, including adjusting the runout with a tenth dial indicator.
