I posted a few weeks ago about the Z axis dropping at startup. Well, I believe it has been narrowed down to the Z axis motor and/or the encoder that is intregal to the motor. As far as swapping it out, what do I need to know? Of course I'll have to block the head, yank the cabling, pull the motor, slap on the new one. Where I'll need some guidance is the grid shift of the axis to gain the correct Z height for the tool changer. What else do I need to know? Anything missing? Remember, I'm just a dumb shop owner, not a machine tech
