I am considering a Haas TM-2P Toolroom Mill and would like some feedback. If you have one or one simular please let me know what you think.

Thank You Athack

Hi Athack

I have TM1 and was a great little step into cnc but is a bit messy as no enclosure and could do with a tool changer( which we arent allowed in UK !!) but you would have both with 2P ;)

I assume you need the large X movement rather than a VF1 ?

Cheers Kev

If you use them for what they are expected to do you will be happy. If you expect them to be as rigid and powerful as a real vmc, you will be disappointed.

Sure would be nice to have the real enclosure...

They're nice machines for prototypes and small runs. But for close to the same cost, you can get a Sharp 2412 instead, which will do prototypes fine but will also do a good job on job shop type work. Its got a smaller work envelope but if your parts fit it, it might be a better machine for you if you need to remove metal fast.

Search Sharp 2412 on the CNC forum here and you'll hit lots of discussion on the machine.
