I had a job today that I usually do manually but the boss wanted me to do it on the antique 1995 HL-1. I needed to chuck on the ID, so I rough turned some soft jaws, changed setting 92 to ID chucking but the spindle brake stays on. Is there a parameter I can change to release or reverse the spindle brake?

Is the brake physically on? Was it physically on before setting 92 was changed? Was the brake light on before? Cycle power? M15 in MDI?

I've been programming and operating this lathe for about 8 years now and this is the first instance that I've had to chuck on the ID of a part. I tried powering the machine down after changing setting 92 to ID Chucking, but the spindle is still locked. If I actuate the pedal to close the chuck, the unclamped light will come on but the spindle will now spin.

I'll try the M15 code in the morning.
