Hi all.
I've been struggling with chip evacuation issues on my EC-400 for better than six months now, and the warranty was up about two years ago. It is used exclusively for machining aluminum. We bought it with the optional front chip conveyor, but went back to the standard auger due to constant jams. The motor reverses as advertised, but does not clear the jam and keeps cycling between fwd and rev, not putting any chips up the chute. All three augers in our machine are standard spring type, but I see in the brocheure for the new models, that they have gone with a "cored" style auger in all three positions. It seems that the problem lies with the standard augers balling-up all the chips and creating the jams. I've had to replace the front auger motor twice in the last 2 months due to broken shaft keyways and stripped gears.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems? I'm at wit's end on this.
