Changing J head to variable speed head

Whats up guys! Im thinking about changing my head over to the variable speed. i believe i have all the parts necessary, just wondering how difficult this is to do. will it all simply bolt on and away i go? or are there things to consider before disassembly of the current head? will certain years not match up for example.. thanks a bunch ahead of time!

Three bolts from the head to the lower housing.
You will need a different drawbar.

Are you replacing the entire head, or just the top end???

Simplest way to do this is to attach a VFD to your existing step pulley head. Instant variable speed.

I already have an entire variable speed head with a 3hp motor, which is a step up from my current 1hp, that came with the machine when I bought it. So I guess my question is whether this head will bolt right up or not. What can I look for to determine that?
