I know the swing is 11" so in theory that distance would be 5.5" ....but would need to be a little more, so an 11" diameter part would not scrape the bed, so what is it exactly ? (I have one I could measure but it's 16 miles away at the moment)

140mm (5.51") over bed, 115mm over carriage and 83.5mm over cross-slide. (they vary a little from experience but only by a few 10s of thou")
