BP used an NLGI #0 semi fluid grease. The unit was filled to the set screw hole on the side. Finding that grease in a small quantity is the tough part. The unit only holds a few ounces.
If you have the unit cleaned out, I would suggest this

It's a polyurea thickened grease so it does not play well with others like lithium.

Reading thru Gordon Long's link I gather it may be a little difficult to reassemble correctly. My my RAA is old but appears little used. Gears turn smoothly and quietly, with little backlash. Inspection into the set screw hole I can't see very well but looks like the gears are basically dry. So I'm guessing previous lubrication (liquid) is long since dried up. I have ordered the NLGI #0 grease JRIowa recommended and plan on filling to the set screw level. Any other suggestions? Thank you for info and advise.
